Plymouth Yacht Haven

Plymouth Yacht Haven is pleased to be one of the sponsors of Plymouth Race Week and one of its main event marinas, offering both finger pontoons and alongside berths suitable for larger vessels and multihulls.

The marina is located on Plymouth’s Mount Batten peninsula, sheltered from the prevailing south westerly winds and just a few minutes by water taxi from the Barbican. The pontoons have electricity and fresh water, and are accessible at all states of the tide. There are showers, laundry, free WIFI and 24 hour diesel.

Also on site at Plymouth Yacht Haven is the excellent Bridge bar and restaurant, a well stocked chandlery, sail repairs, rigging services, boat repairs and marine engineers. The marina’s boatyard has a crane for mast lifts, a 75 ton Wise boat and a deep water dock. Boats can be held in the hoist for an hour, overnight or over the weekend, and pressure washing services are available. Racing scrubs for monohulls up to 12.2 metres in length from £85. Storage ashore is also available either outdoors or indoors. Car parking is available free of charge (one car per boat). Crew accommodation can be found either on Mount Batten or in one of the traditional village pubs at Turnchapel, both of which are within a 5 minute walk.

Toe In The Water

The tri-service initiative Toe In The Water (TITW) aims to inspire the men and women who have sustained often traumatic injuries, including the loss of limbs, to move beyond their disability and to become re-inspired by life.

Competitive sailing is a physically and mentally challenging adventurous sport and provides a unique opportunity for injured men and women to sail and race on equal terms with their able bodied contemporaries.

Ullman Sails

Ullman Sails is a global sailmaking super power but we would hate to think that this is all we are.

A trip to the sailmaker used to mean a trip to the loft, a few pleasant hours looking at fabrics and machinery. A small amount of good natured haggling and then a handshake to seal the deal. A few weeks later the new sail would be ready and a short trip out to check the sail would ensue.
